OCTOBER!!!

ok, i think i say this over and over again this time of year, but i absolutely love fall. it is the most amazing season to me. it has fantastic smells, colors, and don't forget the incredible warmth of apple cider. mmmm....:-) i haven't been a hayride in a long time...it'd be fun to find a hayride somewhere! good things always happen in October. i was looking back in my journal this last week and noticed how this time a year ago was when my feelings really started to change about Matt. as hard as i tried to fight feelings for him, i could see glimmers of hope through the words i wrote. i can't believe where a year brought me. i'm always amazed at how far the Lord moves me and changes me. things happen like a flash. i don't even realize the changes he guides me through until i've passed them. i'm very grateful for that quality of the Lord's, His never-failing patience and faithfulness to continue a good work in me.

mountain day is this saturday. and i'm pretty stinkin' excited about it! it's so cheesy, but i love it. what i look forward to the most is just being with my dear friends, scratch that, my dear family. although, not everyone will be able to make it (tisk tisk!), it shall be a grand time. we've got quite the picnic spread in the works. :-)

starbucks is going really well. i haven't had my certification yet, but have worked real shifts and everyone says that i'm doing just fine. i feel pretty confident, just slow. but i know that i'll get into a rhythm and will get faster. i had an amazing breakthrough with this lady the other day. a non-coffee drinker, she wanted to get something. so i suggested that she just try a chai latte. she took my word for it and ordered it. two hours later, she drives back up, walks in and is searching the menu for the name of the drink. she found me and asked me what the name of it was again because she loved it so much! that's why i love working in a coffee shop. it was a great feeling.

well, i better get ready for bed, even though i've got caffeine in me. i was trying to make it through closing, so i had this espresso brownie that is loaded with caffeine. terrible, but awesome. :-)
